“Tail Wind Guitars:
A Luthier’s Tale”
About me
At the outset of my luthier journey, I grappled with choosing a name that would resonate with me and encapsulate the essence of my craft. It was during one of those serendipitous moments—while watching a YouTube video—that I stumbled upon the phrase “Tail Wind.” The speaker described it as a force that propels you forward, urging you into uncharted territories you might otherwise never explore.
The impact of those words struck me like a chord. Suddenly, I knew: Tail Wind Guitars was the perfect moniker for my guitar brand. The name encapsulated the very essence of my creative endeavor—a fusion of passion, craftsmanship, and the courage to venture beyond my comfort zone…
You see, I’d always harbored a fascination with guitars. Yet, despite my woodworking skills, the idea of crafting a guitar seemed daunting. It was as if the instrument existed in a realm reserved for master artisans and seasoned luthiers. But then, my first guitar teacher—an encouraging soul—uttered a simple phrase: “why not build one yourself?”
Those words became my tail wind—the gentle yet persistent force that propelled me forward. Armed with determination, I embarked on my guitar-making journey. Each cut of wood, each meticulously shaped curve, and every resonant note brought me closer to my dream. And so, Tail Wind Guitars was born—a testament to the fusion of inspiration, craftsmanship, and the unwavering belief that even the seemingly impossible could be achieved.
Today, as I string together melodies on a guitar crafted by my own hands, I remember that pivotal moment—the whisper of the tail wind that set me on this path. And with each strum, I honor the spirit of exploration, creativity, and the joy of bringing music to life through wood and strings.
My journey
It is action that creates motivation
How I hoped it would be
I thought it would be a difficult undertaking, but I was excited to see if I could do it. After all they say you make zero shots you dont take. So why Not take a shot?
Family always comes firts
My Family was always supportive…but then there was my dad. A former boxer and ex Marine, he set the bar really high, especially his attention to detail; he was a detailed craftsman and automotive restoration expert, and I have the ’63 Corvette to prove it. But he always believed in my; always had confidence in me.
Waiting for success
So much has been given to me, I have always been driven to give back. When a good friend and mentor had lost everything in a terrible, I felt that making a guitar for him was something I had to do, Below, for the first time, I am showcasing my work to the public!
